What's your favorite thing to show out-of-town guests when they come to visit?
Well, in some ways that's easy because there isn't much to show them in Gloucester, haha, so I'll do the four UK towns I've lived in.

Gloucester
The cathedral (of course), Miller's Green (where they filmed the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas special, here's a shot of the entrance), and the surrounding area. It's the most beautiful part of Gloucester. I'd also show them the Docks and the Guildhall, which has a great cheap cinema.

Guildford
The High Street, the castle (well, more of a keep) and The Abbots Hospital, an almshouse that was built in the seventeenth century and is still going. To be eligible, you either have to be born in Guildford or you need to have lived there for... thirty years? Something like that.

Salisbury
The cathedral, again, you can't NOT see the cathedral if you come to Salisbury, it's the only reason the city exists in the first place. The Cathedral Close in general, which is utterly beautiful. I always try and go there when I visit the padres, brings me back to my school days (I walked through the close to get to my Spanish A-Level class.) Hmm, what else? Harnham is pretty, and maybe Old Sarum. Stonehenge if they were really eager to see it, though I prefer Avebury, bigger and quieter.

Canterbury
Everything. :D

Now, see if I were in Gloucester, I'd demand to see the tailor.

Haha, there's a Beatrix Potter shop RIGHT where the Tailor of Gloucester's shop is supposed to be! :D It's a beautiful little alley called College Green, so atmospheric.

Awesome!!! It was the first book I was ever given as a baby so it's my favorite of her work.

Awww! :) It's a beautiful place, I've been in once, so many things I wanted to buy. I ended up not buying anything in order to save myself. ^^;

Hehe, yeah, I've not been able to collect much for two reasons. One, most of it is all about Peter and I like Peter but there seems to be a definite lack in Tailor merchandise.
Two, most of the merchandise we have here is imported from you guys so it's hideously expensive. I saw the cutest thing the other day with a little mouse with a needle and thread...but it was Royal Albert porcelain and 75 dollars!

O_O Erk. *falls over* Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous! Look, send me the link and I will see if I can find it in the shop. $75.. that's just unbelievable.

It just keeps getting weirder. Here's the figurine:

Fifteen dollars there, but if I look anywhere else, forty pounds! Now, I'm curious what the proper price really is, but I suppose it could because it's a 1992 release?

Love the icon, I can't wait for season two to be shown here.

If it's from 1992, it'll be difficult to find, hence the price. I will see if there's something similar in the shop, though.

OMG, you watch Ashes to Ashes? :D Didn't the last S1 episode just BLOW YOUR MIND?

YES! I loved when Gene was all nice to her as a girl and she thought that it was her godfather, but it wasn't...it was Gene!

My favourite part was the revelation of the Clown. I mean, I'd already guessed who he was, but I never thought they'd actually SHOW it so when he took his glasses off, I was like "ZOMG!"

Oh, I totally hadn't guessed it. I'm bad like that sometimes.

It's not bad, it's what they want! :)
