Oh no, not him...
Autumn - sunlitdays
This won't mean anything to the Americans among you, I'm afraid, but...

Humphrey Lyttelton

God, haven't you taken enough good people this year? ;_; He was so talented, so funny. We needed him.

*is all depressed now*

Thanks to Ros, who pointed me in the direction od ISIHAC, I actually have an idea who he was. That dry, absolutely hilarious guy binding it all together? Dang. I'm sorry, and I hope there's someone who'll be able to carry his legacy.

*weeps on your shoulder*

Yes, the man with the wonderful dry sense of humour. I hope someone will carry on, but it's a bit like when John Peel died. He was a one-off and so was Humph. ;_;

They've always said it wouldn't go on without Humph, and I have to say, I think that's probably the right decision. It just wouldn't be the same.

In a freak coincidence it seems that Samantha passed away quietly today as well.

Good. >.> I really wouldn't feel right listening to it without Humph.

No way, Samantha passed too? Oh man... :(

Radio 4 will never ever be the same again. :(

I've just read Girlyswot's notice. It's terribly sad news. I can't imagine life without ISIAC. I listened right from the first episodes all those years ago (I know, that really shows my age) as I grew up listening to Radio 4. It wouldn't be the same without Humph so they couldn't really keep going. We may get a few more "Ye'll have had your tea" but even that would just be a sad reminder.

Wow, a fan from the early days. *bows to you* Indeed, it's the end of an era. :(
