I can't believe it...

Holy shit, I just realised something.

I wrote a R/T fic before the release called Mentors. When I wrote it, only one character in that fic was already dead in the books. Now, only one character in that fic is ALIVE. The other four are DEAD.

In other news, it comes as no surprise to me that JKR didn't intend to kill Remus and Tonks. That explains the COMPLETE LACK OF EXPLANATION. But I'm torn: on the one hand, I'm happy Arthur's alive but on the other... Remus and Tonks were meant to live! Damn you, Jo... ;_;

Wait, what? Where did you hear this?

Hell, I just found it. NOW I'M EVEN MORE UPSET. *kicks things*

I KNOW! Doesn't it make you want to scream?!

Okay, so my theory is that Remus and Tonks informed Jo that it was their time to go, and that they would rather die than Arthur because Arthur has children who would be devistated.

Can you imagine poor Mrs. Weasley? Arthur AND Fred! I wonder if she would've killed off Sirius in book five, too? We would've been sobbing through the whole second half!

No, I'm sorry, I just can't let it go that easily, even though I agree that OotP would have been MUCH darker if Arthur had died. Arthur lived a good and full life and it would have made Percy's return even more bittersweet. Remus had just started to enjoy his life again (after nearly twenty years on the edge of society) and he was cut down. Thinking back on how we were introduced to Tonks and then to their relationship last night, I just got even angrier. :/

Where did she say that?

But that DOES make me really mad.

In the Today interview. :/ You can find it if you look on Mugglenet. And yes, it makes their deaths seem all the more unfair, although it does reassure me that the rest of us are right to be so surprised and angry.
